yes it's ALL ABOUT ME

So I have said this in the past but now I am committed.
Not being selfish or anything but rather giving myself the time and credit I deserve.
Self appreciation I find is a wonderful trait.
2014 is ALL ABOUT ME!

Crop & Create

After so many years of scrapin, I finaly attended my first crop. Ok well I attended workshops at the crop.
I must say, I admire the women gathered at these events, I would have to prepare for months and even then I would forget something. I really enjoy paper crafting at home in my space this is where I am most creative. With this said perhaps one of these years I will cross off "crop" scrapin off my list:)

My workshops were fantastic!
Learned some new techniques, met some awesome women and of coarse the goodie bag!!!

Something for Peter

Today I finished another little project that has been lingering in my studio for a while.
Transforming plain wood letters with wonderful patterned paper is not only easy but makes for an awesome personalized gift.
For this project I purchased wood letters and traced their outline on to my paper of choice. Using modge-podge I glued down the paper, allowed it to dry (15 min) and then sanded around all the edges. I then wiped
Off any dust and sealed with modge-podge once again.
I incorporated some of the scrap paper into my card as well.

Getting Organized

Christmas has come and gone. Snow has finally covered the Ontario landscape, and I am not looking forward to a Canadian winter.
Taking advantage of my vacation I am sorting and organizing.
I was inspired by an image on pinterest, seeing as I have far too much jewelery and decided to create my own little display.
I really love it. I can actually see what I have!!! Who would have thought, 20 minutes and $10 later,

VOILA!

Here is what you will need:
  • A flat piece of wood,(I purchased a cabinet facing at IKEA in the as is dept for $5.00)
  • Hooks, (the number depends on how many rows you will add)
  • Dowels, from your local hardware store.( I measured the width I wanted and purchased two dowels which I then cut in half)
  • Acrylic paint of your choice
  • Craft foam paint brush
Measure and cut your dowels
Paint and let dry
Measure out the distance for your hooks and screw on to the board (cabinet face)
Remember to vary the distance to accommodate for the various length of jewelry you have.
Mount to wall.

And there you have it!

Christmas Cheer?

Well call me MAD, I went to the mall today!!
I finished my coffee just waiting, and finally a parking spot!!I felt as if the heavens had opened up!
Inside, CHAOS.
Although holiday music could be heard in the background, people were so focused on their task at hand that they looked like walking zombies.  Absence in there eyes, no smiles just stress. I was kinda freaked out, walked in to H&M bought a shirt and some socks and just left for home.
Why does that happen? Why do people forget the meaning? Why do people forget to be human?
Yeah not doing that ever again.
On a better note, I am getting the hang of this so called blogging,I will be adding some jewelry photos etc.
in the next few days. I am very excited, cause that means I get to actually sit and create!
